We have eight part time nurses employed by the practice and usually three in the clinic at any time. Two of our nurses do the over 75 Home Health Assessments and one nurse runs a chronic disease clinic each Tuesday mainly dealing with diabetes.
The nurses always assist with minor procedures in our theatre. The nurses are very experienced and help with all immunisations.
We have five supervisors in our clinic, all have interests both inside and outside of the clinic. Several of our doctors assist our orthopaedic surgeons every week. Dr Bismire is heavily involved in teaching Melbourne University students and Dr Davey is a medical educator with MCCC. Dr Traill has an interest in palliative care and Dr Frawley has an interest in skin lesions.
Our clinic has undergone an extensive renovation in 2010 and we now have 15 consulting rooms and two theatres and several smaller procedure rooms. We have car parking at the back of the clinic. We have a doctor on call 24/7 and our registrars will be included in this roster after an induction period.

Hospital visits, nursing home visits and home visits – a vehicle will be required.
We have an extensive orientation period over two weeks where you sit in with each supervisor for a session and the nurses do several tutorials as well to cover immunisations, dressings etc.
We are also heavily involved with the teaching of Medical students from Melbourne University.
Some of our doctors have special interests i.e. women’s health, palliative care, obstetrics. Several of our supervisors assist our orthopaedic surgeons each week as well.

Ovens Medical Group has a doctor on call 24/7. There is a roster system in place and presently the doctors do one in eight weekends on call.
