Dr John Greer, our main Registrar supervisor, has special interests in paediatrics, adolescent health and musculoskeletal medicine. John takes part in the Docs in Schools program and outside of work hours, enjoys ski paddling and surfing.
Dr Cath Callan is a tutor at the Deakin University medical school. Cath has completed training in women’s health. In her spare time, Cath likes to travel and enjoys painting.
Dr Jo Horman has a keen interest in all aspects of family medicine including preventative medicine, small surgical procedures and counselling. Jo loves all sports especially the Geelong Cats and Australian Netball Diamonds.
Dr Amanda O’Brien has post graduate qualifications in obstetric care and sexual health. Amanda enjoys all aspects of general practice – preventative care, acute illness and chronic disease management. Amanda loves exploring different cultures and has had many travel adventures.
Our practice has 9 consulting rooms. Our nursing staff have additional qualifications in diabetes and asthma education; they assist our GP’s with procedures, injections, dressings, health assessments and management plans.
On site, we have a gym utilised by our patients and our staff. Our Exercise physiologists will resume running classes in the gym or upstairs in our pilates room once it is safe to increase our numbers. Prior to covid, we had approx 15 classes running, with patients aged 18 to 84 years old! It’s been a successful program loved by the patients for both assisting with their physical health and for providing a social outlet for them.
We also have physiotherapists, podiatrists and dietitians on site and a Clinical Labs collection centre open Monday- Friday 8.30am-1.30pm. Our Registrars are encouraged to sit in on sessions with our Allied Health and our local Pharmacist.
Our long standing GP’s have excellent contacts within the Geelong area, and are able to provide opportunities for Registrars to participate in educational sessions of particular interest outside our medical centre.
In addition, we provide placement opportunities for Deakin Medical and Nursing students.
