East Brunswick Medical Centre is a doctor owned, purpose built medical clinic that was established in 1988. We have a strong following of loyal patients including patients from older generations and some younger families who have moved into the area.
We are a predominately private billing practice with a focus on high quality, up to date medical care. We are a fully computerised, essentially paperless practice with excellent online resources and a well stocked library of medical texts.
We have experienced office staff including a practice manager, assistant practice manager, office manager and a team of six receptionists. There is a St Vincent’s Pathology collection centre onsite with staff that perform blood tests, ECGs, throat swabs etc. A dietician also visits the practice on a weekly basis.
The practice is made up of eight doctors, 2 male and 6 female who work a variety of hours, including on a part time basis. The medical team meets on a weekly basis for case discussion.
The registrar is encouraged to attend these meetings, and is seen as a valuable member of the team.
Our opening hours are:
Mon-Thurs: 8.00am – 7.30pm
Fri: 8.00am – 6.00pm
Sat: 8.30am – 12.00pm
Sun: 9.00am – 10.00am
After hours: Covered by a locum service. Registrars are not expected to work Sundays.
The practice supervisors are Dr Andrew Osborne and Dr Claire Veith and one of them is rostered to be available to the registrar at all times.
We have a friendly, collegial environment at EBMC, and other doctors in the practice are also available if the query is more relevant to them.E
We pride ourselves on providing a highly supportive learning environment and we endeavour to tailor educational experiences to registrar’s needs.
