Mildura – Ontario Family Practice – TT 3-4

This practice will accept applications from Training Term (TT) 3 – 4

Ontario Family Practice is a centrally located, family-friendly clinic providing comprehensive holistic care to Sunraysia residents.

Offering both face-to-face and tele-health consultations, this practice’s innovative approach to patient-centred care includes online bookings, preventative healthcare reminders and convenient SMS notifications for test results. Patients without mobiles are personally contacted by the friendly practice staff.

Supervisor special interests include dermatology, sports medicine, paediatrics and emergency medicine. Registrars can learn skin cancer management, focus on women’s and sexual health or explore a range of other special interests. The practice’s range of services also include mental health, counselling, men’s health, travel health, diabetes and chronic disease management. All doctors have visiting/admitting rights to the nearby Mildura Private Hospital.

The practice offers a supportive team culture and comprehensive learning environment, with a healthy work-life balance, understanding the challenges registrars face in clinical settings. Family and personal wellbeing is a priority as the practice believes this contributes enormously to being a good GP.

Registrars will have the ability to practice with discretion and flexibility and have a choice to learn the skills that interest them. The practice supports a range of additional skill-sets for all doctors and is always open to suggestions and feedback.

A team of four, full-time registered nurses support doctors with vaccinations, wound dressings and other medical procedures, as well as patient health assessments. Previous registrars have taken up the option of continuing at the practice after fellowship, so this is an option for interested registrars.
