Mildura Health Private Consulting is a uniquely different style of practice, being situated within the Mildura Health Private Hospital – a first for an acute healthcare setting in Victoria.
This enables the practice to quickly refer and link up patients to specialty services within the hospital, providing them with better access to quality healthcare.
This modern practice offers registrars a complete experience with a broad scope of practice and the opportunity to learn a range of special interests.
The practice’s primary GP supervisor specialises in endoscopy, anaethetics, obstretrics and gynaecology. Registrars will also be able to observe and learn from a range of specialists including general surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, gynaecologists, ENT and plastic and reconstructive surgeons.
Regular, peer-led, education sessions, relevant to the hospital outpatient and inpatient setting and the option to attend GP/Visiting Medical Officer education and networking evenings also benefit registrar learning.
The practice provides mentorship and support with an assigned primary and secondary supervisor, as well as a collaborative GP and GP registrar team within the hospital. The hospital’s Employee Assistance Program also provides confidential, professional counselling and support.
Mildura residents rely on this highly skilled GP workforce to support their local healthcare system. Registrars have the option to consider continuing at the practice after fellowship, dependant on workforce needs.
World-class food, wine and arts culture, plus a wonderful mild, sunny climate, Mildura’s rich history is waiting for you.

Dr Jandree Fransch was recently awarded her General Practice Fellowship and was full of praise for the practice.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with in my role here at MHPH. I feel so privileged to be a part of establishing this new service with Dr Tom Gleeson and Dr Donald Hartley for Mildura Health. I really enjoy the many different elements of my job, including the continuity of care I can give to my patients, as outpatients and inpatients.” Said Dr Fransch.
Mildura, set on the magnificent Murray River, has an abundance of quality restaurants and cafes, great retail options, services and amenities, plus an array of sporting and outdoor activities. Relax at one of dozens of nearby wineries, cruise the river on an historic paddlesteamer, discover the range of locally grown produce at the farmer’s market.
