Region wide roles
Dr Duncan Howard has been appointed to the new position of Education Portfolio Manager, Research. Duncan is a long-standing GP Supervisor with many years of experience in training and medical education. Duncan will work across MCCC with a base in the the Metro West office.
Jenny Vibert has been appointed to the new role of Education Portfolio Manager, Teaching and Learning Resources. Jenny will also continue to work as a Medical Educator with the North East team.
Ann-Maree Smith is the newly appointed Chief Performance Officer, a role which will encompass responsibility for the Finance and ICT Teams and provision of guidance and support for the development and implementation of new business models and strategies aimed at improving the organisation’s overall performance. Ann-Maree has worked in several executive roles within the not for profit sector and holds two Masters degrees in addition to her undergraduate qualifications in accounting and business.
Dr Radhika Sheorey has completed her tenure in the MW RLO role and was successful in her application for the role of MCCC’s region-wide RLO.
Sha Birjomohun who was undertaking a split role of Administrative Officer and Assistant to the Director of Medical Education and Training has requested that she revert back to her full-time Administrative Officer role in the Metro West office and is now transitioning towards this.
Welcome to Nevena Jelovac-Pavelic who has commenced in the role left vacant as a result of Sha’s changed focus. Nevena will initially work Mondays and Thursdays. This role will also encompass provision of general support within the Senior Medical Education Team. Nevena has lived in Australia for 17 years and during this time has been responsible for managing the establishment of several consulting practices for medical specialists transitioning from the public to private sector. Nevena holds a medical qualification from Serbia but has not practiced as a doctor in Australia.
Welcome to Melanie Ward who will commence in the role of Training Support Officer in the MW office following the departure of Catherine Itman. Melanie will commence on 3 April 2017 and her appointment completes the Training Operations team. Melanie has had many years of experience in roles which have involved significant liaison with medical professionals including senior administrative roles with MDA National and the Australian College for Emergency Medicine. Melanie worked with Pivotal for over three years so brings valuable expertise to her new role and to MCCC. Melanie holds a Bachelor of Arts.
Dr Sara Rayner has joined the Medical Education team in MW following Dr Caroline Hawkins’ departure.
Dr Gina Smith joins the Medical Education team in MW as the Registrar Medical Educator and Dr Jayde Cromarty is the new MW Registrar Liaison Officer. Dr Romarna Dichiera has completed her tenure as MW RME and has now been appointed as a Medical Educator in the MW team.
Narelle Anderson was formerly working in a split role in the NW which comprised Training Support Officer and Administrative Officer. Narelle applied for the position of Training Support Officer in the NE which became vacant after Loretta Mahoney was successful in her application for the Registrar Education and Practice Support Coordinator position in the NE. This followed Jo Hamilton’s departure early this year.
Dr Jessica Madden has joined the NE Medical Education team as the Registrar Medical Educator whilst Dr Kate Rahman will soon commence in the role of Registrar Liaison Officer with Dr Xavier O’Kane transitioning out of this role.
Dr Evan Schuch has completed his tenure as the NE Registrar Medical Educator and has now been appointed as a Medical Educator with this team.
Christine (Chrissy) Grygierczyk commences as the new Administrative Officer in the NW office on Monday 3 April 2017. This role became vacant following the departure of Kate O’Regan and following Narelle Anderson’s move to the NE. Chrissy has undertaken studies at La Trobe University in Bachelor of Business.
Robyn Grundy will commence in the role of Training Support Officer on Monday 24 April 2017 following Narelle Anderson’s move to the NE. Robyn holds a Bachelor of Information Technology and is currently studying towards a Bachelor of Business.
The Medical Educators who have joined the NW team since late last year are Drs Julia Coshan, Nyree O’Connor, Adeline Ooi and Paul Pittorino.
Dr Josephine Adorni-Braccesi joins the NW Medical Education team as the Registrar Medical Educator and Dr Kiri Matthews has commenced in the role of NW Registrar Liaison Officer.
Dr Myuri Kantharajah has continued in her role as SW RLO whilst we work towards finalising a new appointment. We are still holding a vacancy in the SW Registrar Medical Educator role.
Of course all of these new appointments mean that our existing staff are delivering significant amounts of training, orientation and general support to our new staff. The MCCC executive would like to thank the staff who continue to perform this invaluable work whilst covering their own roles and maintaining their enthusiasm.
