Dr Michael Connellan – RDAA Rural Doctor of the Year
We are pleased to announce that Dr Michael Connellan has been awarded RDAA Rural Doctor of the Year at the RMA19 conference for improving access to quality healthcare for his community.
This highly deserved accolade recognises Michael’s strong commitment to rural medicine, contribution to his community, the passion he has for teaching and the mentorship he provides medical students, junior doctors, OTDs and MCCC registrars.
Michael is a GP Anaesthetist and obstetrician and a partner at the Ararat Medical Centre. He is involved in all facets of general practice, has Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) rights to the local hospital, and provides GP Anaesthetic services to the East Grampians Health Service with 1-2 theatre lists each week. Additionally, he shares equally in the local on-call emergency after-hours roster.
