The MCCC RLO team consist of four Registrar Liaison Officers (RLOs) representing each of the four regions of MCCC. Of these, one will have the added role of ACRRM liaison and one of the Senior RLO. The Senior RLO will act as a liaison person between the RLO team, GP Registrars and MCCC GP Training, represent the views of GP Registrars to MCCC GP Training, facilitate communication between them and provide training support to Registrars. The Senior RLO role is 0.2 FTE and the other roles are 0.1 FTE. MCCC Registrar Medical Educator
Are you an MCCC GPT3 registrar looking to explore medical education? Consider submitting an expression of interest for one of our Registrar Medical Educator (RME) roles. The 0.4-0.5 FTE role (or other lesser time fractions as negotiated with your RHE) has been accredited as a training role and therefore can be added to your training time. Positions are available in each of the four regions. This is an extended skills placement completed part time in conjunction with your part time GPT3 placement. As an RME you will assist with planning, developing and delivering education activities within the respective training hub or region, under the guidance of your RHE. Whilst the role of RME demands balance with other professional and personal obligations, it does provide significant scope for personal growth and development within a supportive team and an active educational environment. You will be involved in contributing to the development of innovative education and training methods and approaches, participate in curriculum planning, implementation, evaluation and review and you will respond to queries from registrars about learning planning and education and training requirements. This role provides other professional challenges and learning opportunities including assistance to registrars with professional duty of care matters and self-care. The RME will participate in induction and orientation of registrars to training and work with the MCCC Registrar Liaison Officers (RLOs) in their roles supporting peers. This is a new position extended skills, all enquiries are welcome. BCHS has run a reproductive health and sexual health clinic for over 10 years at Hargreaves St in Central Bendigo. Staff include doctors, nurse practitioners and nursing staff with special interest in these areas. Registrars who will be GPT3/4 are encouraged to apply for the reproductive and sexual health extended skills post. Most work will be in the Hargreaves St site, though some work may be done at other BCHS sites. The successful applicant will gain broad clinical experience in reproductive and sexual health issues. This includes understanding puberty, common issues with periods, contraception options, fertility information, early pregnancy care and shared care where appropriate, pregnancy choices for unintended pregnancy including medical termination of pregnancy, STI screening and management, cervical screening, breast health and breast checks, issues related to sexual dysfunction, emotional and physical issues of menopause; and involvement in community women’s health education sessions. The registrar will attend the theory component of FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health for Doctors. The Melbourne Sports Medicine Centre is a large multidisciplinary practice co-located with a General Practice (Midtown Medical Clinic) and a Specialist Centre (Medical Specialists on Collins).
